How The Corona Virus has affected the Ecosystem

As we’re all aware, April is Earth Month.  A month dedicated as a living memorial to a dying world.  This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of Earth month, each year highlighting growing concerns over a growing crisis.

On a global scale, many people are dedicated to finding unique solutions to saving the world from greenhouse gases and pollution, that have made our planet increasingly uninhabitable.

Over the years attention has been paid to issues such as Plastic Pollution, massive Deforestation, Greenhouse Gases, Animal Extinction, all chiefly contributed by Industrialization. Laws have been passed and demonstrations have been held focusing on how to decrease human footprint that has created such devastation.  But nothing has been more effective lately in doing more to create subtle changes to the earth than the arrival of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.

The Corona virus has unleashed a global pandemic which has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, self imposed AND mandatory confinement, global recession, and a strain on the world healthcare system.  Through it all a new sense of awareness and cooperative living has unfolded – The emergence of Sustainable Industries, the use of clean energy, and smaller human footprints which have shown to create distinct changes in our daily lives.

  • Air quality has improved dramatically: Satellite pictures have shown dramatic decease in pollutions in countries such as China, Great Britain and the USA.   Before and after pictures depict significant changes over the past three months in cities such a Los Angeles, New York, and China’s Hubei province, due to a decrease in rush hour traffic, and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • The reemergence of animals: They are seen coming out of places of refuge, forests and outer city limits, reclaiming spaces that were once besieged by human vitality.
  • Bodies of waters appear cleaner: Waterways and oceans have seen an increase in oceanic activities now that there is a decrease of harmful boat propellers, ocean liners, and excess garbage piling up in our seas and oceans.

So what are the lessons learned during these precarious times?  That changes can indeed be made to heal the world from pollution, deforestation and diminishing of our wildlife resulting from greed and apathy.  Take only what we need, depend more on clean energy, and create smaller footprints that will help to reverse some of the effects of human expansion and industrialization.

Where is The Merry Loo Company in all of this?  We believe that we can achieve the greatest impact in creating quality products that are natural and beneficial to human wellness.   Our Loo Spray line is formulated with a natural enzyme which neutralizes odor on contact.  Our carrier is ethyl alcohol, which is found to have notable antibacterial properties, and our fragrances, natural and naturally derived are utilized in small quantities which serve to enhance the product experience.
