As a Chemist working in the Personal Care Industry I came up with a perfect solution to smelly situations! As a consumer, I came across various products which claim to eliminate odor. Every product I tested brought me to one realization – that no one had actually come up with a tried and true method of eliminating odor, only to adequately mask it. This led to one disappointing, and sometimes embarrassing experience after another.

The Plan

It got me thinking… How can I create something natural that would not just mask odors, but eliminate them completely?

Masking agents contain a strong fragrance or perfume which is sprayed into the environment to obscure noxious odors. While masking agents are mildly effective, they do not work to eliminate the pernicious smells. If the masking agent does not adequately conceal the odor, the mixed aroma of the masking agent and noxious odors can become quite unpleasant (We all know what popular disinfecting sprays mixed with what we've accomplished smells like)! So, after extensive research, and countless trials, I found a simple but effective solution that would eliminate most odors altogether. Something that is biodegradable and environmentally friendly, harmless to animals, and of course harmless to us.

The Little Enzyme…

Odor neutralizers employ chemical reactants such as hydrogen sulfide and significant quantities of reactant alcohol to neutralize odors. Surface barriers such as oils, film formers and glycol ether (a solvent typically used in paints and cleaners) have also been used to change the chemical composition of the surface water in a toilet bowl to prevent the escape of malodorous agents. This particular yeast enzyme converts ammonia (the compound that is responsible for most malodors), into amino acids. While the smell of ammonia is often a strong deterrent to humans, we are unable to detect the presence of amino acids. This means that this enzyme is an effective odor neutralizer. What a breakthrough!

I was able to utilize the enzyme to create a proprietary blend – we call ORT^TM (Odorepeal Technology) - to produce a potent and effective PATENT PENDING neutralizer, which along with all its other mind blowing properties, also assist in destabilizing odorants inherent in bacteria - completely destroying malodors, and minimizing embarrassing situations!

So what does this product do? Some common sources of noxious odors include perspiration, human waste, vomit, cigarette smoke, food, mildew, and pet odors. As nutrients in certain materials are digested, various volatile metabolic bi-products are created which result in unpleasant odorants. The Loo Spray^TM  locks unto these odor causing compounds, neutralizing them and rendering them ineffective. In layman’s terms, The Loo Spray^TM kills the beast! 

This is the story of how it all started. This product is now available to both men and women in a small, elegant but powerful package because we all know how very difficult it is to carry around an antiseptic smelling, odor masking deodorizer in your purse or your pocket! It’s true what they say folks, great things do come in small packages!

Personal Bio

As a Personal Care Chemist for over 20 years, I have experienced almost all facets of this fluid and fascinating Industry.   I began my career in Industrial Chemistry and moved into the Cosmetics Industry purely by accident.  Driven by my love and fascination for all things BEAUTY, here I am today, building a small company of my own!

I made my first foray in Color Cosmetics working for a small company in Nyack, NY - called Wet 'n' Wild, and eventually moved to L'Oreal USA, New Jersey where I spent a few years in Hair Color.  Skin Care ultimately became my obsession, so I pursed that aspect of the Industry, spending the majority of my career working in Contract Manufacturing where I was able to gain superb knowledge of anti-aging, hair care, pet and veterinary products.

With one patent under my belt, I hope to create more unique products that serve us all, whether its skincare, personal care or color cosmetics, I look forward to providing exceptional benefits.
